About Fujima Misae

My life is dedicated to the art of dance, focusing on the profound tradition of Kabuki Dance. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, my journey with dance began as soon as I could stand upright. Raised by artist parents who traversed the globe for their craft, I learned early on the value of adaptability and the beauty of cultural diversity.

From my teenage years, my family began to put down roots in Brazil, where my passion for dance drove me to immerse myself in research on various dance forms. It was there that I encountered Kabuki Dance, a mesmerizing art steeped in Japanese tradition. Captivated by its elegance and depth, I devoted myself wholeheartedly to mastering this ancient art form.

In pursuit of excellence, I made the pivotal decision to relocate to Japan to further my studies. Under the guidance of the honourable Fujima Shôgo, Grand Master of the Fujima Ryu School, I constantly hone my skills, having embraced the rigorous training required to excel in Kabuki Dance.

As a disciple of Fujima Shôgo, in 2020 I have received the Natori — A title of a member who was included in the clan — and bestowed the name of Fujima Misae. In March 2023, in ceremony at the Fujima Ryu headquarters, I was granted the prestigious title of Shihan — Master, entrusted with passing forward the rich legacy of the art — with the commitment to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Kabuki Dance.

Beyond its aesthetic beauty, I believe dance has the power to foster social and human development, and I am passionate about sharing this transformative art form with learners and audiences worldwide.
